goldensun4koma is a journal in which intrepid adventurers (or rabid fans of the Golden Sun GBA game) can find English-language versions of the Golden Sun 4-Koma Gag Battle anthology done by cinnamonical and kiirobon. The anthology was originally in Japanese and is also extremely hard to find. (Sometimes a copy surfaces on eBay or on Yahoo!Japan.)

Golden Sun Realm is also doing a 4-koma translation project, but goldensun4koma is not affiliated with the site in any way, shape, or form.


[[Guidelines and Stuff]]
1. Thou shalt not claim as one's own.
2. Thou shalt not remove the scanning and translation credits from the comics.
3. Thou shalt not host on another site without cinnamonical's permission. E-mail her at alchymic(.)aria(@)gmail(.)com for questions.
4. Thou is able to use the comics in icons if one desirest; simply be mindful to give credit to Sora G. Silverwind or to this site. (Later, large-sized raw scans may be posted for downloading pleasure. May be posted.)


[[Miscellaneous]]
Be sure to read the comics from RIGHT to LEFT. If an entry features two or more comics, you should read the right-most comic first. (This matters for continuity of storyline in some of the 4-komas.)

Artist names are listed in the Eastern style, last name first. Comic titles in the index below are listed first with the name of the right-hand comic on the page, then the left.

Apologies if any of the text is unreadable and for possible bad image quality as a result of resizing and sharpening.


[[A Note on Translations]]
Neither myself nor kiirobon are transparent translators or word-for-word translators. We don't feel that doing an exact translation of the original Japanese into English is helpful or desirable for a general audience. Instead, we focus on making it readable and fun while still conveying the general meaning of the original Japanese. Not every little change we made is noted in the entries to follow, but some things such as kanji puns and other such jokes are explained after the relevant comics.

As of today, December 21, 2008, goldensun4koma now has 50 members! Thanks for the support, you guys! I'm glad there's a lot of you out there finding use in my little corner here. Part of the reason I'm motivated to do these translations is because there's an audience for it. So, thank you!

Also as of today, goldensun4koma has officially passed the 50% mark with regards to how much of the anthology is translated! (I'm at 50.8%, to be exact.) Rawk! Everyone knows from NaNoWriMo that things get much easier after you hit the halfway mark. *shot*

Winter Mix of Whimsy [sendspace; .rar; .mp3]
I put together this winter-themed mix because I felt like it. Songs either have a winter-related title or sound wintry. Although some songs have Christmas in the title or sound Christmasy, I stayed away from using the usual Christmas carols - the only song on there that has 'em is the first one, which is this ridiculously cute medley of Christmas carols in Japanese done by some seiyuu from Di Gi Charat or something. Otherwise, we've got quite the variety of music on here, including a track from GS! Comment if you download!

And now, the main course! I'm offering you guys an incomplete set of the raw scans I'm working from for this anthology, plus bigger-sized scans of the various cover and miscellaneous illustrations. I scanned them in two pages at a time, so I've only included the scans where I finished translating both pages in the scan. Please, please credit me for the scans. This was a pain-in-the-ass to deal with, so I would like some recognition of that. You guys can use them for icons and banner and whatshit (and if you do, let me know so I can take a look!), but I just ask that if someone asks you where you got the scans from, just point them back here, aight?
